Say Goodbye To Shaving Forever!

FAQ's

Does it work on all skin types?

Laser hair removal works on almost every skin type-from very light-skinned people (or what's known as Type I on the Fitzpatrick scale, a skin-typing test) all the way up to Type V or even VI (which is dark skin), Some terminology to know: Light-skinned people will usually receive treatment from an Alexandrite or Diode laser, while darker-skinned people will receive treatment from an Nd:YAG laser.

Blonde, grey, or light red hair is difficult to treat.

Does I need to shave beforehand?

Your first appointment will be for a patch test. During this initial consultation we will test an area of your skin to ensure you don't have any reactions to the laser (this is extremely rare). We must wait 48 hours before we can then perform your first laser treatment on the area you desire. You don't need to shave for your patch test but for each laser treatment after that you are required to for best results. We recommend using a new razor also.

What's the procedure like?

During treatment, a light-based system emits bright flashes of light into the skin where the unwanted hair resides. The hair follicles absorb the light energy, heat up, and become damaged. Each pulse of light energy takes a matter of seconds and treats multiple hairs at once, making this procedure very quick and easy to perform. Treatments can last anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated.

How many treatments will I need?

Generally you will need around 6 sessions to remove the hair completely, conducted every 4-5 weeks apart.

Does the treatment hurt?

When it comes to pain level, laser hair removal falls somewhere between shaving (painless) and waxing (holy hell that hurts). but even then the process generally feels like a rubber band snapping against the skin. Our machines have built in cooling systems to reduce any discomfort.

Get I have two areas treated at the same time?

Yes that’s absolutely fine. We also offer discounts for multiple areas.

Is it permanent?

Laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction, not permanent hair removal. The reason: The laser targets and destroys your current hair follicles, but in some circumstances new follicles can develop thanks to hormonal changes or shifts in weight.

How long does each treatment take?

The actual procedure time depends on the area being treated. Each hair follicle is zapped in a millisecond, so a small area (such as the armpits) will take less than five minutes to complete, while a larger area (such as the legs) might take a half hour.

What’s the difference between laser and IPL?

Lasers produce a single, concentrated wavelength of light to specifically target melanin in the hair. Diode technology typically uses a wavelength around 800 nm to 810 nm. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) produces a wide spectrum of light, around 550 nm to 1200 nm, rather than one specific wavelength to target melanin in the hair. Otherwise, both treatments target hair efficiently to generate optimal results and essentially work in the same way.

Is there a minimum age?

Generally the minimum age is 14 years old but a parent must be present during the treatment and sign the consent forms.
